Columns, Loggia Flooring & Wall Fountains

The Del Mar Estate

Every limestone element on this estate was sourced, reclaimed and reworked before it was set. Columns and arches cut from reclaimed stone frame the loggia at the front of the house, standing on a paved terrace that curves out into the lawn. Behind them an arcaded veranda runs the depth of the building on polished limestone slabs, each one laid with its own patina and fossil marks intact, passing a mantel carried on deeply carved stone corbels. Inside, the wood paneled library is centered on a carved limestone mantel above a herringbone firebrick firebox, and the kitchen opens across a limestone floor toward a second carved mantel in the room beyond. On the patio a limestone wall fountain finishes the sequence, its scrolled crest and curved basin carved by hand from a single run of stone.
