A Timeless Villa
Every room here is measured out in reclaimed stone. Antique limestone blocks clad the dining room wall and the arch of the wine cellar, where a scrolled iron gate opens onto the racks behind, and a tumbled stone tile floor runs beneath the table toward the living room. There the hearth is a hand carved limestone mantel, its frieze cut with running scrollwork and rosettes, its pilaster legs fluted, set above a black herringbone firebrick firebox. Limestone treads curve up from the entry hall on a scrolled iron railing, the paving beneath them laid in soft golden tones. Outside, a single antique corbel carved with a volute is mounted on the plaster wall beside an arched passage, and in the garden a limestone wall fountain sits low between two stone benches on a paved terrace.
